David Johnson has recently taken over the reins as CIO of IP Australia. Prior to IP Australia David was the CIO of ComSuper.

 

 

About Presentation (Abstract)

David’s presentation will discuss the business expectations, his approach and plans, and progress to date.

IP Australia commenced an extremely ambitious program of work to shift from paper based business processes to electronic several years ago. Solutions implemented to date have focused on improving transactional efficiency. While there is still much room for improvement in that area and it remains a major focus of efforts, IP Australia is also looking to improve the effectiveness of service delivery by other means.

In the mix are ideas such as increased emphasis on simplified business processes, partnering and re-use of work done elsewhere, improved access to information and decision support tools, improved user experience, improved staff training in the use of tools, collaboration support and additional emphasis on encouraging a shift in staff understanding and behaviors.
